Captain

The captain ensures that the crew is safe aboard the canoe. He also gives out instructions to the crew so they can arrive to their destination safely. When the captain gives instructions, the crew follows them without questioning him. The crew cannot doubt what the captain tells them because they know arguing would hurt their chance of arriving safely to their destination.
