Since peace is dependent on communication, respect and friendship, it is important for students to be able to share both their similar and dissimilar ideas with others. Partners for Peace: A Classroom Resource can be used in a number of ways. Classes can use this resource to find "partner" schools and classes. Classes can select specific topics, issues and areas of interest to discuss over the Internet, and locate like minded students. Classes may wish to sponsor "People of Peace" activities where students around the world can nominate individual students, teachers etc. who they believe have contributed to the peace process. Classes can also use this resource to hold more formal activities such as debates, or essay writing. In addition, current events can be discussed as they happen and their impact on student lives explored. Partners for Peace: A Classroom Resource can help you to find your partner and share ideas, facts and feelings- its limits are your creativity. </P> <P>Participating Schools:</P> <TABLE BORDER=1> <TR> <TD> Teacher's Name: </TD> <TD> Name of School: </TD> <TD> Location of School: </TD> <TD> Number of students: </TD> <TD> Average age of students: </TD> <TD> Discussion Topic(s): </TD> </TR> <TR> <TD> Linda Zetes </TD> <TD> Kempsville High School </TD> <TD> 5190 Chief Trail, Virginia Beach, VA 23464 </TD> <TD> 110 </TD> <TD> 15 </TD> <TD> World literature (poetry, short stories) with a theme of peace.
