Symbols on Canadian Money

Coin and banknotes were introduced by the British and French settlers, while the native continued to use beads and blankets.  The money we use today was introduced in the 1850's.

Past money of Canadahad symbols like horses, beavers, and men canoeing, and crowns on them.  The money today has other symbols on it.

The one dollar coin is made of something like bronze, and has a duck or goose on it.  The 25 cent coin is silver (color) and has a moose head on it.   The 10 cent coin has a picture of Queen Elizabeth on it.  The 5 cent coin has a picture of a beaver on it.  The 1 cent coin has the picture of maple leaves on it.
