INTERMEDIATE SCHOOLKrisca is the oldest member of our team. She is from Costa Rica and is in the sixth grade. Krisca was in our fifth grade class until she was transferred in January because of her age. Krisca really loves to study the planets and someday would like to go on a space mission.
Remigio is the only boy on our team. He is in the fifth grade and enjoys studying astronomy. Remigio can't wait until we have an Internet connection in our classroom so he can spend more time looking for information about the Solar System.
Karina has been our coordinator. She has worked very hard trying to get us together and to help us get information for the project. Karina is also very interested in the Solar System, especially the outer planets. Karina is very excited that we could visit the Hubbel Space Telescope site to see real photographs of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
Jennifer worked very hard finding information about comets. It was really exciting when we found the pictures of Hale Bopp and Hyakutake on the Web. Jennifer hopes she can be in the right place when the next comet comes into view of the Western U.S.
Mayte found new information on the planets and was able to use some of her award-winning reports from fourth grade. She has been interested in the heavens since she was 6 years old and would like to study astronomy in college.
