Kai-Resource
Hawaiians relied on the kai (ocean) for most of their food needs like opihi, squid, coral limu, and of course all different kinds of tropical fish. They also used the ocean for sports like hukilau and surfing or even telling what time it is to celebrate because around the ocean it is very clear and it is easy to see the stars.
