Goats walk in the canyon and they are very hard to find because they are always by the trees and most of them are the same color as their environment.
Hunting

Pigs, goats, and deer support a year round sport of hunting. Wild pigs with their tusks several inches long can seriously hurt a hunting dog and a careless hunter. Most pigs now days have a short or curly tail and white, black, and brown blotches because of mating with domestic pigs that got loose after the Europeans came.

Feral pigs have been digging up some plants that are holding the dirt to the side of the mountain. By doing that they create landslides or erosion. By uprooting trees and plants it kills the plants.

The goats of Kaua'i are usually black, brown, or white. These goats live near the swamp and near some trails. A goat after being cleaned and gutted could weigh from 30-75 pounds.

The black tailed deer is similar to the white tailed deer but its tail is black. Not many hunters have seen a black tailed deer but they do exist. Sometimes a lucky hunter can bag 1 deer per season.

Different hunters prefer different dogs with different personalities. Some hunters raise dogs like bull terriers, boxers, hounds, and Airedales. Some hunters like "grabbers" and some like "barkers". Grabbers are dogs that grab the pig and hold it down so the hunter can stab it or shoot it. Barkers are dogs that chase the pig and bark so the hunter can follow it. Some hunters don't use dogs for two reasons. Either it's a still hunting season or area (no dogs permitted) or they don't need any.
