Satellite Photograph of Earth

arctic_circle.jpg (12713 bytes)

This is a satellite photograph of the earth. This is what the earth would look like from the moon. You can go to the URL in our bibliography to visit the site where we got this image. At the satellite you can put in the geographic coordinates (where you live by longitude and latitude) and it will show you a picture of the earth with where you live in the center of the picture.

Did you notice the white spots on the dark side of the earth? That is the light of cities. Do you know why half of the earth is light and half is dark? Think about it? Why is the rest of the picture black?
