Mount St. Helens Eruption

On Sunday, May 18, 1980 at 8:27 A.M. Mount St. Helens erupted. This volcano erupted with the power of 500 atomic bombs. Blast after blast spewed tons of fiery ashes into the air. Within minutes the surrounding area becomes a wasteland. Sixty-one people were killed and over 2 million fish, animals, and birds were destroyed. This volcanic eruption effected the states of Washington, Idaho and Montana.
