Cookin for English

Cooperative learning groups will choose and print one recipe. Students will practice following directions, sequencing and team-building skills as they develop a plan and graphic organizer and create their own concoction for the entire class.
  1. Find and print a recipe that your entire group can agree. Remember you will be preparing this for the entire class.
  2. On the back of the recipe, develop a plan using a graphic organizer. Be prepared to hand in this plan in at the conclusion of the lesson.

        Some questions to answer in your plan:
      1. What ingredients do you need?
      2. Who will do what jobs?
      3. What would be the proper sequence to follow?

    Follow-up activities:

    1. Cooking Day: Students make their recipe and share with classmates.
    2. Self-Evaluation: Students self-evaluate using rubric on cooperative learning experience.
    3. Writing: Individually, students develop a descriptive paragraph detailing their experiences
