Colorado

Once You Have Your Permit The Law Says:
It may be renewed for a fee of ten dollars.
You cannot let another person " borrow " your permit.
You must allways have pemit when driving a vehicle.
You have to be with a driver who is atleast 21 and riding in front and have the same or higher class of liscense.
You must have liability insurance on and in the vehicle you are driving.
Colorado Point System
System based on age of driver and type of license. When reaching number listed the state may suspend you license.

Minor Driver: 16 to 18 years old
More than 5 points in 12 months.
More than 6 points in time peiod for which license was issued.
Provisional Driver: 18-24 years old
9 points in 12 months.

Illegally passing a school bus
Fleeing from or eluding a peace officer
Leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury or death
Unlawful use of a drivers license or identification card
Failure to carry motor vehicle insurance
Alcohol-Age violation ( possession, use, or procurement)
Violation of restriction under-age possession of marijuana or drug paraphernalia

You must pay a reinstatement fee at a minimum of $15.00 up to $155.00 !!!!!

First Underage DUI Conviction

    UNDERAGE ILLEGAL TRANSPORTATION OF AN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE

  • Drivers license revoked for a second conviction

    SUMMARY SUSPENSION

  • A chemical test indicating a blood alcohol concentration of .10 or greater results in a 3-month drivers license suspension
  • Refusal to submit to a chemical test results in a 6 month license suspension
  • For subsequent offenses , a chemical test indicating a BAC of .10 or greater results in a 12-month drivers license suspension. Refsal to submit to a chemical test results in a 24-month drivers licenses suspension.

  • Maximum of $500 fine and up to six months in jail

    ZERO TOLERANCE FOR YOUTH

  • A new state law that provides for the suspension of driving privileges of any person nder the age of 21 after consuming alcohol. Any trace of alcohol in the person's system will result in a suspended license.
