Fines

Underage Drinking
  • Suspension and fines
  • fine of up to $500
  • $25 restoration fee
  • must complete program on alcohol education intervention, or counseling.
  • DUI
  • First Conviction-Minimum fine of $300 and mandatory 48 consecutive hours in jail
  • Second Conviction (within 7 years)-Minimum fine of $300 and 30 days in jail
  • Third Conviction (within 7 years)-Minimum fine of $300 and 90 days in jail
  • Fourth Conviction (within 7 years)-Minimum fine of $300 and 1 year in jail
  • Fines increase with each conviction. Fines can go as high as $5000. Jail time can be up to 2 years.

    All cost, testing, and treatment will be assessed against the defendant.

    Refusal to take the DUI test or driving while license is suspended carries a fine of $1000, at least 90 days in jail, and 1 additional year of license suspension.

    Juvenile DUI Offender Fines

  • Will be processed in Juvenile Court
  • License will be suspended for 1 year unless accepted into ARD program
  • Fake ID's
  • If caught, offenders are charged as criminals and receive criminal records
  • Offenders must pay a fine and lose all driving privilege
  • This is an example of fines assessed by the state of Pennsylvania. Some states have higher fines,stiffer jail terms, and longer license suspension times. Most states require some type of alcohol or drug education course for juveniles arrested for DUI's.
