Procedure

-->Parental Help Highly Recommended!<--

1. Pour about 1/2 cup of water into the lid.

2. Add about a tablespoon of salt to the water, and stir until it is dissolved.

3. Connect one of the ends of the wires to the pickups on your battery or transformer (one on each).

4. Bend your two paper clips out, as so to make prongs that you can stick into the solution.

5. Connect the two paper clips to the free ends of the two wires.
Don't let the paperclips touch each other!

6. Place the tips of both paper clips into the solution.

7. If you are using a transformer, turn it on.

8. Watch the reaction, and notice that more bubbles come off of one of the prongs than off the other. Do you know why this is?

*** CAUTION***
use only batteries or transformers 15 volts or under!
