"If there is one lesson I have learned, it is that many hands are required to help turn the wheels of success from concept to development. Therefore, I am sincerely grateful and indebted to numerous loved ones and friends who encouraged me to do it my way. They invested time, money, patience and their prayers."
(Jerome L. Wicks)
Combining his love for machines and his talent for them, Wicks trained as a machinist in the Air Force and studied mechanical engineering. Parenthood and inventiveness led Wicks to the creation of his first invention. When his son's facsination with playing with the toilet handle proved dangerous, Wicks did not shop for a protective device: he created his own. Afterwards came the "Safe-T-Guard" or "Patio Door Guard" a patio door lock .
