Welcome to the
This site is a database of astronomical information. Although it concentrates mainly
on the constellations you will find it useful and informative in all
areas of astronomy. The icon bar at the left side of your screen is
provided for your convenience and will remain there as long as you are
viewing this site. You may use it to navigate between the four main sections.
Two of our sections are interactive and allow you
to help determine the content of this site. The general layout of our
site is as follows:
This is the largest of the four sections. It contains information
and a star chart of each of the 25 constellations most commonly seen. The information includes
origins of the constellations, mythology, and points of interest within the
constellation.
New Information
This section contains up-to-date information on astronomy. It
includes maps of the current northern and southern hemisphere skies. You
will also be able to call up a chart showing the sky at any time of the year.
In addition, it contains new discoveries in astronomy, information on comets,
and links to other astronomy pages. If you would like to add your own information
to this area, please see the "Feedback and Uploading" section.
This area is intended to be a place where users can share information
and get answers to their questions. It will include a frequently asked
question list (FAQ) and e-mail links to teachers and astronomers who can
answer any questions which are not answered by our pages.
This is where you can input comments, complaints, suggestions, and
even your own images and information relating to astronomy. Located here
are e-mail links to the creators of this site and instructions on how to build your
own astronomy page. It also includes directions on how to upload
information of your own into the New Information section.
