Situated about twenty miles southwest of metropolitan Los Angeles, California, in affluent
suburban Palos Verdes Peninsula, Palos Verdes Peninsula High School has been noted since
its founding for its academic excellence, as well as for its achievements in athletics. Here are
some data concerning the computer and Internet experience at Peninsula High:
INTERNET EXPERIENCE:
One IBM and one Macintosh lab serves math, business,
English, and history classes
Classes in programming offered
Internet facilities are not accessible at Palos Verdes
Peninsula High except in specialized programs such as
PacRim and global studies*; thus, students use their home
PCs to access the Internet and to develop associated
programming skills.
Honor students are proficient in the use of computers

resources into their education plans.

While PVPHS's Internet facilities are still developing, the
school's "traditional" educational facilities and athletics are,
nevertheless, noteworthy. Here are some profile data on the

- High Golden State Exam results as compared to state and county

- Excellence in all levels and types of interscholastic athletic competitions. (World-ranked Pete Sampras was
