Every healthy diet must have some general guidelines. So
we've outlined a few that will be helpful in following to keep you
runnin' strong!
Eat foods that are low in saturated fat. Avoid foods with
saturated fats and high levels of cholesterol.
Protein is important--but don't go overboard, eat moderate
amounts of foods that are high in protein. Examples of high protein
foods are: lean meat, fish, poultry, and eggs. (Limit the number of
eggs to 3 or 4 per week).
Drinking Water is important. 6-8 glasses a day is the usual
guideline recommended.
Remember: It is even
more important to drink a lot of fluids in hot weather.
Eat lots of complex carbohydrates. These are important--they
give you energy!!
e.g. vegetables,
grains, cereals, breads, beans, potatoes, pasta, and fruit.
Try to stick to eating 3 meals a day. EVERY meal is important. Snacks of nutritious foods are great, too!
