BUSINESS ATTIRE

When preparing for an interview or to go to work, you know that there is a right and wrong way to dress. Finding the right attire is the first thing needed before entering the business. And of course, there are two different sets of business attire rules for men and women.

Men

For men the common business attire starts with a single-breasted jacket and a white or blue long-sleeved shirt. The slacks worn should match the jacket down to texture and color if they did not come as a set. Under the long sleeved shirt, there should always be an undershirt. And wing-tipped shoes compliment the ensemble very nicely. If ties or belts are worn, make sure the tie coordinates and the belt's color is the same, or close to the same as the shoes. No jewelry should be worn except for one simple ring (like a wedding ring) and it would be nice to add a pen to the pocket of the long-sleeved shirt.

Women

For women, it's best if a nice navy, grey, or black suit is worn but always make sure the skirt could not be considered mini. If a blouse is needed, the best choice is always a solid color. Prints may make the suit look to busy. A rule of women's business attire is you must wear hose. And on the ladies feet goes pumps, not heels. If you have long hair pull it back, and if it's short it's okay to leave it down. Most importantly, women must learn to use proper jewelry. If your accessories number to more than 13, take some off.
