Pachamama

The Earth that saw us be born

One of the deepest cultural aspects for the man of the gulch and of the "Puna", it is the cult to the "Pachamama". The tradition tells us that the expression goes back to the Inca who identified to the Madre Tierra like the origin of all prosperity.

It is something so put in the blood that we would say it is an atavism from the cult to the old divinities and through the centuries has left summing up in an immense love to the earth. The Pachamama would be the religious expression of a telluric love that all man feels for the earth that saw them be born.

Above all simplistic appreciation on the interpretation of the Pachamama, we will give an idea on the deep sense in the cultural reality and nun. All man must live with dignity has to remain faithful to the earth, first reality with which we are in the life. The scream "Pachamama" Saint Earth, KUSIYA... KUSIYA...!, the man takes it and put inside his being that not alone it remains faithful to the earth, but rather it is identified fully with her. The Earth and the man are two realities that are supplemented and they could not understand each other separately.

The northerner is born hit to his earth like an aspect but of the telluric thing, and he goes assimilating for all that the earth offers him. It is part of the landscape, he meditates and lives. Maybe for that reason silent and sad. The immensity of the Puna or the majestuosity of the daubed hills of the Gulch, they have been captured in the humble heart, suffering with an endurance safe against sun, cold and wind.

For that reason, when forced by the necessity or the circumstances, it leaves their earth and march to the city or the harvest, in the bottom he feels as a stranger in the paradise, desiring to return to their earth. But when arriving the month of August, he surrenders cult to the deity of the Incan mythology: The Pachamama, ancestral rite that fulfills respect and adoration.
