Here are pluses and minuses of sitting without the electricity

Pluses

Minuses

We began to read books more, because the only thing we could do for entertainment was reading.

It is very uncomfortable to make homework because the working day is connected to the daylight, so it is very shot during the winter.

We think the big plus was that we rested from the commercials on TV

It is cold, because the heating is connected to the electricity. It is dangerous to use candles, fire stoves(running on wood)

During the crisis there was a full moon so we saw how bright it is shining in the night

Many pipes got frozen and repairing services had to do a big job

We got closer to the nature: we were getting up with a dawn and we were laying with a sunset.

It was very hard for the peoples to go trough the crisis psychologically because of absence information about what is going to happen or when will they turn the light on.

It is very good and necessary to understand how good is the electricity. After the crisis we understood that we should be very happy when we have something, but not be unhappy only when we lose it

We forget very fast how we were sitting without electricity. Just after the crisis to have a turned on not necessary lamp was big excess to us, but after several days it became usual for us.

Problems

In our opinion the main problem was in the absence of information. People didn't know when there would be electricity. There were 3 telephone numbers of informational service, but it was very hard to phone trough them, because 2 of them didn't work, and the 3rd one was always busy. We think it was the biggest problem because the excess of info led to physiological stresses, for example mother during their workday didn't know is everything good with their children.

Accidents happened during the crisis

    1. The 13-aged girl was killed by a battery detonation. When she was doing her homework she put a flashlight working on the rechargeable battery into her mouth and it burst.
    2. During the energy crisis grew out new type of crimes: steeling the generators just from the places where they works.
    3. A family (husband and wife) got burned in the fire: when they were filling the generator in the home with a gasoline lighting room with a candle. Unfortunately gasoline's steams flamed and all room began to burn. When woman tried to brake the window she cut her tendons on arms so hard, that she is still in the hospital without the possibility to move her fingers.
    4. 3 girls (7,11 and 13 years old) and a woman were poisoned by full of coal gas from a generator in the neighbor's toilet.
