The
completion of the project trying to analyze the genome of human beings is said
to be attained in 2001, if it is done early, and that even if it is done late,
it will in 2003. Some go so far as to say, "One will be able to have the CD-ROM
in which the information of one's own hereditary information is saved. Since
they have not known the root causes of diseases, doctors have lumped one disease
with others, and have had contacts with patients.For example, when it comes
to cancer, what are said is only 'Anticancer drugs are convenient." or "Radiotherapy
does well". They have never chosen any treatments with the criteria, whether
the treatments fit patients. However, the completion of the project and the
study made by it will enable us to recognize which gene distribution cause diseases,
and to give medical treatments that fit to the gene distribution: colon cancer
can not be defined as one type. It is possible that some colon cancer is caused
by the disorder of the 1st and the 150th gene distribution and other by the
disorder of the 2nd and the 400th. seen from the interpretation of the interior
of the body, cancer of infinite types are recognized. Scrutinization of the
role of each gene will enable us to do medical treatment for the sake of each
person, namely "Ordermade Medical Treatment". A judgement such as "This medicine
will do" or "That therapy does better" can be done thanks to the analysies about
gene distributions.
Later on, strategy to establish
such medical treatment needs constructing. After the scrutinization, study for
the good of patients should be done, when molecular biology, information genetics
and so on, which we have used are required, in, the meantime, not only diseases
but also the characters and behavior of one will be able to be related to genes,
This can be a new problem concerning one's privacy in the near future. It is
necessary that we consider how to protect such private gene information and
do write down on paper.
