2 Passive euthanasia; let one die= Allowing to die
Death of dignity is defined like this: when the patient suffer from fatal diserases and they have no view of recovery, they don't recieve life-prolonging treatment and die an artless death. This is euthanasia.
Euthanasia needs to be agreed to by the family of he or she as well as the patient and the doctor in charge.
Japan Death of Dignity Association forwards the prevalence of "Leving Will", the writing one writes while he or she is vigorous. This pronounces tha he or she wants death of dignity.
Euthanasia is roughly classified into two:
1 Active
euthanasia; make one die=Killing
2 Passive euthanasia; let one die= Allowing
to die
Passive euthanasia represents, for example, the case that the doctor in charge ceases to instill into the patients, which lets the patient die.
On the other hand, active euthanasia is done with more active means such as use of potassium chloride, muscle-relaxing medicine, and so on.
In Addition to this classification. Euthanasia is classified into three types:
1 Voluntary
euthanasia; the patient wants and agrees to euthanasia.
2 Non-voluntary euthanasia; this
patient is too young to cope with the problem or the patients' will is unknown.
For example, the case that a newborn baby is terribly disordered. Most cases
which gets into trouble belong to his type.
3 In-voluntary euthanasia; in spite
of the patients' ability to express his or her mind, other people disregard
the mind of the patient and eecute euthanasa. This case is rate. Needless to
say, this will not be admitted ethically.
Hereinbefore, combining these criteira, six types are distinguishable.
According
to the criminal laws' criteria, it is referred to as indirect euthnasia to prescribe
some medicines which can kill the patient mainly for the purpose of softening
the pain of the patient.
The judgement in euthanasia incident at Tokai University, the judge allowed the family of the patient to excute euthanasia. It is a difficult problem whether the use of morphine, dope, and so on correspond to this.
But there are some people who argue that this case corresponds to active euthanasia, for human use medicines to anticipate the time of the patient.
