Island ecosystems - laboratories for evolution
If you want to observe evolution in action, an island is a good place to start. In fact, Darwin developed his theory of evolution from visitng the Galapagos Islands. Islands are laboratories for evolution because a species can migrate from the mainland and remain on the island for thousands of years, changing and adapting, until it becomes distinctly different than its mainland ancestor.
