| The Maned Wolf (also called the Guara) isn't actually a wolf. It's a VERY tall dog. The natives got it right when they called it a "fox on stilts." It is a nocturnal animal that is totally nonthreatening to humans. It is commonly a victim of hunters because it pauses out of curiosity when it is being pursued.
