The Jaguar

JAGUAR

The jaguar lives in dense forest, often close to water. A mature jaguar can be 44 to 73 inches long, have a height 2 feet at the shoulder, and weigh over 220 lbs.. They are found from the southern U.S. to northern Argentina, but are most often found in the rain forests of Central America and Brazil. It is a great climber and swimmer. Jaguars prey on all large mammals, including cattle. Because it eats domestic livestock and has an attractive coat, it is often hunted by man.
