| Tamarins are small monkeys that live in the canopy
of the Amazon rain forest. They have sharp claws which allow them
to quickly climb trees. Their diet includes fruit, flowers, lizards,
and small animals. Lion tamarins have been brought to the brink
of extinction because the Atlantic forests of southern Brazil
are being destroyed at a rapid rate, and the tamarins are unable
to flee because they can't cross large rivers. |
