Definitions

-caisson - a two-wheeled wagon used for carrying artillery and ammunition and as a casket carrier at Arlington National Cemetery.

-contraband - goods imported or exported illegally.

-coup stick - a long slender branch used by a warrior to touch an enemy to prove his bravery, rather than shooting him from a long distance. "Counting coup" put the warrior at greater risk and allowed him to demonstrate greater courage.

-plinth - a slablike peice of stone beneath the base of a column or pier.

-sentinel - a soldier stationed as a guard to challenge all comers and prevent a surprise attack.
