How to Build Your Own Computer - 08/15/99 - Chris

I suppose that if you are reading this you already have a computer (unless you are one of those people mooching off of a friend's or the public library's). But if you are planning on building a computer (or at least thinking about it) then I guess you have come to the right place. In this little list you will find the steps it takes to build the computer that is just right for you.

BIOS Operations - 08/15/99 - Chris

The bios (Basic Input/Output System) is the heart and soul of any computer system. It controls many vital functions such as CPU speed, Hard Drive detection, Bus speed, and core voltage. Though it is rare that one ever should have to tinker with the Bios settings, there are some instances. My best recommendation is not to EVER touch the Bios, UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE DOING! If you are just playing with it because it seems fun to you, then you could risk destroying the entire computer itself.

Uninstalling Software - 08/15/99 - Chris

One of the key things to running an efficient computer is to know how to properly uninstall software. Sure you can install software, you just follow the directions. But when it comes to uninstalling a file, there isn't always a set of directions. When uninstalling a file there are usually two ways it can be done, and that all depends on the software itself.
