Frilled Lizard
| Frilled
lizards inhabit Northern Australia. They have a frill folded
up around their neck, and when they are startled, it spreads
out and makes the lizard look twice as big as it normally is.
Then the lizard makes hissing noises and shows its teeth. They're
about 30 cm. (1 ft.), plus the tail. They eat insects and some
small rodents. |

| Individual
lizards' scales are different colors, depending on where they
live. They reproduce by laying eggs. |
