Soccer
The
most popular sport in Switzerland is soccer .Almost every
village has a soccer club, so have we. In Switzerland the
children begin to play soccer at age of four. There are
groups F to A. The youngest ones are F and oldest are A. The
trainings can be 2-5 times a week. If you are very talented
you get chosen by the coach to play in a higher league. Not
many Woman play soccer. In the winter, there are lots of
inside tournaments.

Ice hockey
Ice
hockey is a popular sport too. There are ten teams in the
Swiss championship. But unfortunately there are always
fights between the fans after the matches. Even if there are
more spectators at hockey-matches than at soccer-matches,
only few kids play hockey. At Spreitenbach there are 8
boys who play ice-hockey - this is 1 - maybe it's
because the expensive prices of the equipment.
In fact children prefer playing
unihockey - they don't need any skates and can play it
anywhere. Unihockey is the favourite
sport-lesson-game.

Tennis
Switzerland has some very good tennis
players like Mark Rosset and Martina Hingis She is actually
number one of the world. She is 18 years old.

Curling
Switzerland's very famous of curling
too. The Swiss were the winners of the Olympic games 1998 in
Nagano.

Kickboxing
The most popular Swiss kick boxer is
Andy Hug. He is the champion of the world in this class.
Even kids can do this sport.

Bike sports
There are the famous races as the
Tour de France", "Tour de Suisse" or the "Giro
d`Italia"
These tours are with racing bikes.
they last from one week to 4 weeks. Sitting on the racing
bike for such a long Time is very hard! People from all over
the world ride together.
The most famous cyclist of Switzerland
are Alex Zülle, before him Tony Rominger was a champion
too. They were the winners of lots of tours in
Europe.
70% own a very good bike in
Switzerland.

Inline skating
As everywhere in the world people like
inline skating. We have a indoor rink in next town and
sometimes we go there with our class. There is a hockey-rink
and some half pipes.
