Here
in Spreitenbach there are more flats than detached houses,
which most people only rent. Many people - mainly foreigners
- live in high-rise buildings. The old town of Spreitenbach
has been mentioned for the first time in 1124 -
so this year (1999) we celebrate our 875 year
anniversary.

Switzerland is a country of
tenants: Only 33% own their own home, because it`s
rather expensive to buy a house. The land is very expensive
and the constructions too. You`ve got to pay between 300 000
and 600 000 Swiss francs for a reasonable flat or house
(about 200'000-400'000 $), which is quite a lot.

Of
course you can raise. A however buyer should have at least
20 % of privately owned capital. As the prices are high,
Switzerland has very low mortgage rates of 3 - 5 % per
year.
