A "foreign" country
At our school there are many foreign
languages - about 50 % of our students are
strangers.
Men, women and children have to leave
their native country and become refugees, so they are
looking for a safe place to stay. They arrive in a foreign
country, do not understand the language, know hardly how we
live. what we eat, how we deal with the others.

The strong increase in population of
Switzerland in the last years corresponds approximately to
the number of the large cities Zurich and Bern together. At
the end of December 1997 there were 1'300'000 foreign people
in Switzerland - that is 20% of population.
For our schools this means that there
are pupils of about 36 nations who go to school and live in
Spreitenbach. Actually there are 679 foreigners and 619
Swiss, who attend our school. Amazing!!! There are more
foreign pupils in than Swiss ones. Among other nationalities
(most of the from Italy and former Yugoslavia) there are
Americans, Mexicans, Chileans and even
Dominican's.
