We wanted to know how many studets knew about Origami and what theythink about it. We picked four schools and questioned them.

Preschool: Iiyama Preschool 99students

Elementary School:
Toyooka Elementary School 217 students
Keio Yochisha Elementary School 82 students

Junior High School: Keio Shonan Fujisawa Junior High School 384 students

A total of 782 students

Questions

3 You can fold a lot of things with Origami, but would you feel like folding a pattern if someone taught you?
4 What pattern can you fold with Origami? (You can write as many as you want)

・ The most popular Origami models　that children can make by themselves are traditional ones. The Origami models that Pre-schoolers and Elementary children made were all traditional ones, but people who were in Junior High (Middle School) made much more difficult ones, for example, three dimension Origami models.

・ The most popular among the traditional Origami patterns was the paper airplane. In each and every grade, the paper airplane was the most popular.

・ Some children in Pre-school didn't know how to fold the famous paper crane, but as the grades got higher, the number of people who new how to fold paper cranes increased.

・ In one of the questions, we asked, 'We can make mostly anything from Origami models. Would you like to try it?' The older people didn't show as much interest in this question as the younger people did.
