Origami Around Us
Now we are going to find Origami in our daily lives.
Helmet for Children's Day
On the 5th of May Japanese people celebrate Children's day, which was traditionally called Tangono Sekku. We decorate and fly fish kites(Koinobori) in the garden and set the Samurai doll in the living room for the day. For the boys we make the Origami helmet, to dress him up as a brave Samurai. (Look at the picture), wishing him to grow healthy and to become a bright young man.
Now it is one of the national holidays in Japan and we have fun making Helmets for kids and to take pictures of them at home.
