The creative Origami artists are also eager to try new models and materials to express their ideas. Origami specialists are in worldwide networks to exchange their philosophy and creativity, such as Origami USA (New York Origami Center), British Origami Society, M.F.P.P (France), Origami Deutschland, Nippon Origami Association and so on. The number of these organizations reaches up to more than twenty.
They are undertaking to distribute Origami, by publishing books and arranging events for the Origami-lovers.
Now, 'Origami' is a worldwide art of paper. It is officially called 'Origami'. We use this word for both the method of Origami and the Origami pa'er (material). Some Origami professionals call Origami paper ÔKami'(meaning 'paper' in Japanese). Origami artists who persuade more creativity will cut his or her paper their own way to design models and even rub the paper to wrinkle it, or they try to find other materials such as, foils, rags, or anything they find equal to their satisfaction to fold!!
Origami techniques and patterns are used in packaging, graphics and designs. The mystery of lines and creases are the implements for the modern art and beauty.
November 11 is Origami day. This was the day World War I was ceased and the peace treaty was signed. Now it is also known as 'Veterans Day' or 'Remembrance Day', and is called 'Sekai Heiwa Kinenbi' (Worldwide Peace Memorial Day for Japanese). That tells us that Origami played an important role to serve for world peace.
