Bulgarian Black Sea Resorts
The Bulgarian Black Sea coast is 378 km. long. A great part of the shore is covered with large sand belts reaching 500 m. width at some places. The sand is golden and very fine. The saltines of the sea is approximately 1.8%. The average temperature of the water in July is 22-24 deg. C. Near the shores there are lots of lakes and thermal springs. All of this makes the Bulgarian Black Sea coast a very attractive destination.
| Albena is a tourist resort in the northern part of the Bulgarian Black Sea cost. It is situated 30 km. north of Varna. Albena has a very wide (50-500 m) and long (more than 5km.) sand strip. The reservate Baltata is near the resort and is a century old woods with very interesting and rare plant species. The resort exists since 1969. It is famous for its modern architecture. There are about 40 hotels in Albena, restaurants, entertainment centers and the biggest casino on the Balkans which are visited annually by thousands of foreign guests. |
| Zlatni Pyasatsi (Golden Sands) is a tourist complex on the north Black Sea coast with a international fame.It is situated 17 km north of Varna on the territory of the National park Zlatni Pyasatsi. The coast is covered with trees and is going in steps to the beaches. Among the woods hotels, restaurants, sport facilities are built. Along the sea is the 4 km. long and 70 m. wide sand strip, filled with fine, golden colored sand. The favorable climate, the mineral springs and the exceptional combination of the woods and sea make Zlatni Pyasatsi very attractive for recreation from the beginning of May until the end of September. |
St. Konstantin and Elena (Druzhba) is the first Bulgarian tourist complex on the Black Sea. It is situated 9 km. north of Varna among a beautiful park. The sea-side has picturesque, hidden from the winds wide beaches of fine, quartz sand. In St. Konstantin and Elena there are more than 20 hotels, restaurants, the International House of Scientists, balneological complexes, sport facilities. In the center of the complex is the monastery St. Konstantin and Elena (Õ²V-ÕV c.). Mineral water is discovered which is used for healing purposes and which allows the complex to be used throughout the year. |
Slanchev Bryag (Sunny Beach) is a international resort complex in the southern part of Bulgarian Black Sea coast. It is situated 6 km. north of Nesebar and 42 km. from Burgas. Near Slanchev Bryag are the first spurs of the Old Mountain. The beaches are covered with fine, golden sands. The dunes, little forests and decorative bushes give the area a picturesque view. There are over 100 hotels in the complex, 4 camping places, restaurants, bars, locales, different sport facilities. Mineral springs are discovered which make the resort even more attractive and several hotels are working all the year.
Elenite is a holiday village situated 12 km north of Slanchev Bryag. In the complex there are several hotels, little villas, lots of sport facilities and locales.
