Introduction

The fact that quite a lot of plants have managed to survive in the desert without regular rainfall is quite astonishing. Apart from the irregular rainfall, desert plants also have to cope with extreme temperatures (boiling hot in the day, and freezing cold at night). Many desert plants have developed some survival tricks to deal with these problems.
