Cats Cheetahs The cheetahs of the Sahara are luckier than the lions, for there are still some of them surviving, though they are so rare that they are not often spotted. There are more of them in the Kalahari Desert. The cheetahs there hunt at night when it is cooler, unlike their grassland relatives who hunt in the day. These champion runners can run very fast, 110km/h at most. Males often hunt in small groups while females hunt alone.
