The current technology is geared towards living life in the fast lane. The latest computer "buzz" word is "now technology" giving an indication that the more the computer can do mundane tasks itself, the better.
Imagine the time to come, where the computer gently buzzes you awake, monitors heart rate, blood pressure, sugar levels and gives you breakfast accordingly. Of course, there must also be the daily exercise routine controlled by your friendly P.C. Think of the exercise bike that has been programmed to suit your fitness needs. Think about not having to leave your castle, but being able to contact other humans through the P.C., and of course being given the daily schedule by the boss. But who is the boss? Computer or Human Being? Hmm... Other issues come into line - a computer driven education system, judicial system, town council ... Wait, will I be allowed to shop? - my money will be controlled for me, the P.C. will be monitoring my health and my activities and regulating my sleep time and ... I think I'll hold onto my old 486 Dx-66 for as long as possible - end of High School maybe!
