Using MP3's

MP3's are basically music files. Using them is as easy as 1-2-3, and is similar to opening a file in Windows. For this tutorial, we will use the most popular MP3 player for demonstration. This player is Winamp, and it features great options to customize its interface and playback. This player can convert mp3 files to wav files, which can then be converted by CD recording software and burned onto a CD. The first step of course, is to download a player. Any mp3 player will do. After that follow the steps below. For a large listing of Mp3 Players, click here.

Step #2 (1 is mentioned above):

You need to find a music file which you want to play. If you already have a file in mind, skip this step. If you do not have a mp3 file on your hard drive that you can use, we suggest visiting http://www.mp3.com for some music available for download. To the right is an image of MP3.com. Make sure you have enough hard drive space =)

Step #3:

Load the file from either your file manager (Windows Explorer, etc.). When your file is loaded, the music should automatically played. We use an older version of Winamp in the screenshot to the right with no plugins or custom interface at all =)

Step #4:

Adjust the settings to your liking. The volume can be controlled by the sliding orange bar, the shuffle, forward, rewind, and pause buttons are easily located, and the replay button is next to the shuffle button. To customize the program even more, right click anywhere in the Winamp interface and you will see an 'options' option. Have fun!

ENJOY! More information on customizing your MP3 Playback can be obtained from Winamp's homepage.
