
The steps necessary to change the color depth and resolution in
any version of Windows is simple. The provided images are from
Windows98 and may differ from your own screen (for faster loading,
the images are in black and white). However, the basics should be
the same. In Windows 3.x, skip the steps and instead go to
System->Control Panel. From there Find Display, double-click on
it, and change the settings as needed.

Click on the Start menu, select settings, and select Control
Panel.

Click on the Settings tab

Click on the arrow in the Colors section and change the setting
to anything over 8 bit.

Change the screen area by dragging the slider to the right or
left. Then click OK and when Windows asks you if you wish to
restart your computer, say yes.
