CARDONIA
Long
ago in the dark misty forests of the Hillian woods, a young lumberjack named
Karthorias the first was working. His income was steady, and life was going on
pretty well for this lumberjack. In fact, the forest was big enough for ten
workers to life off of. Yet, one day his mother fell gravely ill. Medicine was
too expensive at the time and over time her condition worsened. But one day the
luck changed on him. As he hacked away at a small youthful tree, he noticed the
yellow sap had turned orange, then green and soon after a small sphere rolled
out of the tree. He picked
up the orb and it began shining with great life in the most extraordinary
colors. The legend had come true. The first of the six orbs had been uncovered.
This was his destiny, to become the founder of the largest forest kingdom in
existence, Cardonia.
In
the mid lands of Egypt, a poor worker moved out to sea in search for oil, yet he
found nothing. Having been named Alexander at birth, he struggled to live up to
the man that was Alexander the great. Reaching the age of 35, he was become very
frustrated and had adopted a sense of failure. But one day, as the great seas
rolled and turned, great storms began filling the sky. All the boats at sea were
swept ashore or capsized. Thousands died, hundreds were missing, and it seemed
all hell had broken loose. But something strange had happened to Alexander. He
took his ship back out into the storm, with an invincible fury many friends
would dare not believe he had in him. He had found his salvation. Leaping into
the powerful sea, he dove deeper and deeper onto he was nearly out of breath. It
was then that his hands took hold of a small, round, object. He called it,
Ashington. The King of the Seas has arrived.
There
lived a people of darkness in the shadows. With their hooded masks, sharp
tongues, and menacing scars, they scared off all but the bravest of travelers.
Having no home and no leader, they did as they pleased, only stopping to
acknowledge the existence of one another every once in a while. One day, while
hunting down a party of rich merchants, one of these men tripped over a rock.
Cursing at the rock, the man drew his dagger and slashed at it. Having cracked
the rock’s exterior, it began glowing, and in moments, engulfed the man in a
bright yellow flame. Grasping the orb, the man laughed. His life had been chosen
for him. The King of Thieves would conquer the darkness. MODUB The
indigenous people of the land, the Modub slowly watched their lands undergo
exotic changes. Where there once was snow, the new arrivals created plains and
forestland. Their native lands being threatened, no one dared to uphold the
Modub tradition of erasing the new settlers from existence. Yet one day, they
could stand no more, and a man was chosen among them to lead them to victory.
His neck was
graced with a bright blue orb, and he became forever known as the
Icebreaker, the man destined to restore the lands to what it once was. LYDIA Just due west of the Modubians, the Lydian Council
pondered on their deathbeds. Having lost true magic long ago, they now relied on
relics scattered throughout the land. They had built the town east of Lybia,
whatever that town is now called, but their lifelines had run short and they now
faced disaster. Having little power left, they conjured an orb from the depths
of the land and placed it in one individual they held most faith in. This
individual, this hero, would bring glory and power back to the Lydians. TATES Once there was a brilliant archaeologist
in search of the wonders of the world. He had already revealed ancient artifacts
dating back in time for centuries. His hunger, however, was ultimate. His desire
to discover and to learn led him into one disappointing dig after another. At
the tender age of 47, he had a heavy drag to his legs, a drag attributed
completely to his gloomy state. Not only had he believed he failed, he believed
he was a total loser. On witnessing this man's desperate needs, his assistant
ushered him into the tent of a fortuneteller. This was no ordinary
fortuneteller, this teller had kept a secret for years. She had boldly hidden an
ancient artifact from the world, an orb. On entering her little tent, the
archaeologist felt at peace with his inner self, and died under the strangest of
conditions, with a slight smile on his face. It was that same day that the woman
and the orb dissapeared. That was the same day the kingdom of Tates came alive
with life.
