Exams are graded on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best. Most colleges will accept a score of 3 or better as a passing score. You should check with the biology department at your college of choice to determine what they accept.

The multiple-choice section is designed so that, on average, students answer 60 out of 120 questions correctly. The free-response section is designed so that students produce a mean score of 50%, but scores on each question may vary greatly. Questions range from easy to hard.
