How much does it cost to take the AP Biology exam? The fee for the exam is $75. What if I can't afford to take the exam? Fee reductions are available from the College Board for students with financial need. Also, many schools now pay for AP exams regardless of financial need. Check with the AP coordinator at your school. Are there any publications that I can use to help me prepare for an AP Biology exam? There are many other sources in print. A list of such sources is on the references page. The College Board also provides helpful exam information (including copies of past AP Biology tests and free-response questions). If I don't get a good grade on the AP Biology exam, will it hurt my chances for college admission? If you take the AP Biology exam, you will not receive your scores until mid-July. Students who take the exam their senior year will not see their scores until long after they have been admitted a college. Other students may choose not to disclose their scores until after the admissions process. How many times can I repeat the AP Biology exam? You can repeat the exam each time it is offered. However, your grade report will include the scores for all exams you have taken -- including repeats. When is the AP Biology exam given? How much time does it take to finish an AP Biology exam? The AP Biology exam is usually administered in mid-May. If it is a morning test, the recommended starting time is 8:00 am. If it is an afternoon test, the recommended starting time is 1:00 pm.
