Throughout
Greek and Roman mythology, Zeus was known as a lover of beautiful women. In
one instance, Zeus transformed himself into the form of a white bull. Europa,
the daughter of King Agenor was very fond of bulls and when she saw the magnificent
white bull she was awed and tempted to ride it. Just as Europa climbed onto the shoulders
of Zeus, he took off into the sea and carried her all the way to Crete. Once
there, Zeus turned himself into the form of an Eagle and raped the lovely maiden.
Soon after, Europa gave birth to three children, one of which was Minos the
Minotaur.
