V I S A Y A S : A Rich Cultural tapesstry

Almost a world removed from the city frenzy of life are the idyllic islands of the Visayas, six major land masses, with fringe groupings of isles and islets surround by calm waters, shimmering coves, rocky coasta, and palm-fringed beaches.

Bisaya, or Visayan, is the term generally accorded to a fifth of the population of the Philippines, but the whole area is actually home to three distinct cultural linguistic groups: the Warays of Samar and Leyte, the Cebuanos of Cebu, and the Illonggos of Western Negros and Southern Panay.

All of them are proud of their history and heritage, and clannish in their ways.
