THE SYSTEM OF EDUCATION

 




There is no exact place and time accounted by the historians regarding the first filipinos' education. The parents were the one teaching their children. They taught their children to farm, fish, take care of animals and most of all trained them to be fighters. The cooking, designing houses, planting and sewing is taught to their daughters to prepare them to be good wives in the future.

Reading and writing of the alibata (alphabet) was their means of their communication. They used seventeen (17) symbols - 3 vowels and 14 consonants.
