Geometry
This section covers the basics of geometry: lines, points, & planes. Right triangles are very important in geometry. In fact an entire branch of mathematics is devoted to the study of these triangles: trigonometry.
Deductive reasoning explains the if-then statements and how to form a proof. Circles and its interesting properties will be covered.
Parallel lines never intersect and have many special properties. Area is perhaphs the most useful indeas of geometry and is used in our everyday lives.
Congruency is a special property in geometry where figures have the same side and shape. A number of theorems will be used to determine if two figures are congruent. Volume is yet another everyday application of geometry. Solid shapes, volumes, and surface area will be covered.
Parallelograms will be covered in this section. Many elementary figures, such as rectangles and squares, are parallelograms. Glossary of terms
Trapezoids, having only one set of parallel lines, have some interesting properties.
Similar figures have the same shape, but not the same size. Ratios and equations will be used to explain these figures.
