Outline of move judging

Moves in footbag are judged on the difficulty and the execution. So the higher the difficulty and better execution, the better the score. The moves are composed of different factors that make the difficulty higher. Here's a list:

Now an outline of each factor

1.Body Add (Point)
People can get an add if they are in the air for all or part of their move. So if you do a cross body kick, it's one add, but if you execute the move in the air, it's two.

2.Unusual Surface
An unusual surface is a place on your body that you hit the bag that is not one of the four basic places. Anywhere that you delay on an unusual surface is worth two adds because of the delay count. Some examples of unusual surfaces that have been found in the past are:

3. Delay
A delay is a very tricky but useful tool in footbag. The premise of a delay is to stop the footbag from motion somewhere on your body. You can't let it hit the ground, because the point will not count. A Toe Delay is one of the first delays that you learn. Once you have the motion of the Toe Delay, then most other delays follow easier. The basic idea of the delay is to get the area that you want to delay on right under the bag. Bring it down first at the speed of the bag, then slowly so that it stops. Some basic delays are:

4. Dexterity

Dexterity means that you, in some way, use your wonderful body skills to look cool with the bag. The majority of the time, dexterity means that you circle the bag while it is in the air with your foot. However, the Pendulum also gets it's value with dexterity, but in that case, the bag circles the body.

5. Cross Body

The Cross-Body Position is probably the most frequently used positions in footbag. It can be used for many moves, too many to list, but it is relatively easy to do. All you have to do to have the position be Cross-Body, is bring the kicking leg behind or under the support leg.

6. Original Move

An Original Move is a move or combination of moves forming a move not used yet. The judging is affected if you can prove to the judges that it has not been done before. It's their decision.
