The Pharaohs

Pharaoh played in life of Egyptians the special role. This word cannot be transferred as king, king or emperor. Pharaoh was the supreme ruler and simultaneously the supreme priest. Pharaoh was a god on the ground and a god after death. They concerned to him like to a god. His name was not called. Term "Pharaoh" has appeared from a word collocation of two egyptian words per - aa, that meant the great house. So they spoke about pharaoh allegoric do not name his on the name.

Hierarchy in Egypt

According to belief of Egyptians the first Pharaoh was god Ra. After him other gods ruled. Later on throne there is a son of Osiris and Isida, god Hor. Hor was considered as a pre-image all egyptian Pharaohs, and Pharaohs were his terrestrial embodiment. Each real Pharaoh was considered as an offspring of Ra and Hor. The full name of Pharaoh consists of five parts, so-called title. The first part of title was a name of Pharaoh as embodiment of a god Hor. The second part was a name of Pharaoh as embodiments of two rulers - the goddess of Upper Egypt Nekhbet (was represented in an image of kite) and goddess of Lower Egypt Uaget (in an image of snake). Sometimes stable phenomenon Ra here was added. A third of the name was a name of Pharaoh as "a gold Hor". The personal name of king of Upper and Lower Egypt entered into the fourth part. For example personal name of Pharaoh Tutmose IV was Men -Kheper - Ra. And at last by a part of title was fifth that it is possible approximately to transfer as a patronymic. It was anticipated by words " the son of Ra", and then the second name of Pharaoh, for example Tutmose - Nefer - Kheper followed. Just it usually also was for the official name of Pharaoh.

Also was considered, that Pharaohs there are from spoilage empresses, wife of Pharaoh with some divinity. The relationship in Dynasty of Pharaohs was conducted on a mother line. There ruled not only man - Pharaohs. In a history empress Khatshepsut is known. In all egyptian temples alive Pharaoh was praised as god, were he was asked for his health and well-being. Pharaoh was converted also himself with prayers to gods. In submission of Egyptians Pharaoh was represented as god-man. It is considered that between gods and Pharaohs there was an indestructible agreement. According to it gods presented to Pharaoh the personal health and prosperity of the state, and Pharaoh with the party ensured to gods observance of a cult, construction of temples and so forth. Unique of mortal, he had access to gods. Sometimes Pharaoh personally participate in the beginning of agricultural work, that carried a sacred character. He threw in Nile a roll with the order to begin having poured, he begins preparation of soil for crop, by first he cut the first sheaf on a holiday of harvest-time and uplifts the grateful victim to goddess of a crop Renenut. In Egypt there was constantly conducted the struggle for throne of Upper and Lower Egypt. The priests played the important role in it. Sometimes they based new Dynasty of Pharaohs. Frequently Pharaohs were puppets in hands supreme priest. The struggle went almost without interruption. But certainly most interesting are the pyramids of Pharaohs.
