The $6.3
million Homebush Bay Wharf took 15 months to complete and was
opened in September 1997. This facility is yet another part of the
NSW government’s transport system for the games. The wharf,
located in an open space at the northern end of the Parramatta
river features seats for 75 people, shade (and 320 square metres of
detachable shade canopies for peak periods), covered walkways from
the bus to ferry interchange and has protection from the elements
in the waiting area. (Picture courtesy of the Olympic Co-ordination

The
Homebush Bay Wharf can accommodate more than 800 people and has
fully accessible toilets. The site is powered by solar power and
the adjustable pontoon facilitates for a variety of crafts and
vessels, allowing visitors to alight safely.
